They can be found in the Able2learn Shop.Ĭooking is important to learn independent daily living skills, vocational skills in culinary, reading, social skills, speech development, auditory processing, following directions, sequencing, and learning fine motor skills. Our Visual Programs Use Colour Coded Measuring Cups and Measuring Spoons to assist those learners who are unable to distinguish between sizes. There are many skills that can be taught from our evidence based visual recipes. The recipe can be used to create further programs such as, creating a shopping list, creating more complex programs as what ingredients are home and what ingredients are necessary to create the recipe, how to get to the grocery store - transportation, shopping for groceries - understanding a grocery store, how to use a grocery cart, how to pay, how to count change, use a debit or credit card, bag groceries, come home, organize groceries, put groceries away, cook, safety in cooking, how to set table, manners, eating, social skills, clean up. This program can be used to learn an independent daily living skill, reading comprehension program and math ( learning measurements). All recipes were written, created and produced in our home.
